As an RHSJ in Formation, I am called to know God more deeply, to continue to explore my personal call and to live the Gospel in freedom and with compassion.

Inquiry Phase:

Meetings with our Vocation Director while continuing your studies or ministry
To visit with our Sisters, pray with them, ask your necessary questions

Aspirant Phase ( External ): ( 6 months to a year )

A time of discernment and to learn more about the community
A time for us to get to know you / A time for you to get to know us
A time to discover our charism
Ongoing Spiritual and Vocational Direction
Invitation to weekend retreats, time to be with community

Aspirant Phase ( Internal ): ( determined according to needs of individual )

To come and live with the Sisters for a period of time while continuing their studies or ministry
To continue process already followed in external phase

Postulant Phase : ( 1 - 2 years )

To continue to discern and verify personal and communal call
To continuously deepen her knowledge of God and of herself
To learn more about the history of our congregation, founders, charism , spirituality and mission of the Sisters
To experience community living by praying, living and ministering with the Sisters

Novitiate Phase: ( 2 years )

It is an intense time of preparation for the vowed life as a RHSJ ( First year is a canonical year )
To continue to develop her life of union with God and to increase her understanding of religious life.
Growth in self knowledge and faith and more formal study of RHSJ life and the life of the Church
The 2nd year component includes an apostolic ministry phase and a time of preparation and retreat for first vows.

Temporary Vows: ( 3 - 6 years )

A time to grow in the appreciation and understanding of her call to consecrated life as an RHSJ
A time to permit the Congregation to confirm the authenticity of that call
The Sister in temporary vows is called to participate fully in the particular mission of the congregation.
This period of formation leading to perpetual commitment should culminate in a retreat of at least one month spent in prayer and reflection.
